Midday on an average Tuesday in October, and groups of gorgeous, meticulously dressed people are happily chatting and meandering through homes that are equally stunning.
With ocean views, design gurus, and swoon-worthy everything from tile to textiles, it's safe to say the Corona Del Mar home tour is more than a fundraiser for the local middle and high schools; it's a celebration of the newest design trends and up-and-coming designers in the Orange County area.
Even before entering any of the six homes on the tour, their exteriors make a statement. Brooke Wagner's personal home was one of my favorite spaces overall, and even the view from the street did not disappoint. The home's welcoming warm gray siding is complimented by delicate black lines that accentuate the architecture, while a stunning custom wood garage door completes the 'Modern Farmhouse' meets 'California Coastal' facade.
Gorgeous foyers greet guests as they file in to each of the homes, where they are directed by docents on which direction to proceed in order to manage foot-traffic.
Stunning light and airy open concept living spaces were a trend throughout the tour, with many spaces featuring a focus on layered neutrals, natural woods and leather accents, complimented by focal points created by patterned textiles.
Gorgeous details pulled each space together, like this kitchen's pièce de résistance; a stunning stainless steel hood with brass details, which was complimented by the cool and warm elements in the adjacent marble slab backsplash and gold pot-filler.
While the tours kitchens held their own as 'heart of home', this kitchenette stole my heart with its cement tile flooring, deep teal cabinets and gold hardware.
Powder rooms prevailed as some of the most beautiful spaces, and packed a punch design-wise with all the details included in their tiny footprints. This gorgeous space's backsplash feature wall was stunning in contrast with the delicate sconces and wall-mounted faucet in warm, bronze hues.
This space's playful Serena & Lily wallpaper was complimented by it's gorgeous, custom floating vanity in a marble-looking quartz.
The details in transitional and utilitarian spaces are what rounded out the homes, making them feel truly thoughtful and well designed. This mudroom's leather pulls and painted cabinetry dress up the 'locker' storage for each member of the family, which create both beauty and functionality.
The homes on the tour are on a par with the best, and attract such designers, like Shea and Syd McGee of Studio McGee, who I had the pleasure of meeting (they are such sweet people!).

After a full day of touring spaces with everything from custom water slides to rooftop patios, the resounding impression I was left with was that each of the homes on this tour was uniquely custom and entirely beautiful. If you live in the Southern California area, I would highly recommend making an effort to attend next year.
